The WINTER MARKET!!

The first day of the first year for Kenosha MarketPlace's Winter Market. What a fun day it was. We are really starting to get into the Christmas mode now. Today was the very first Winter Market here in Kenosha. It is designed after the winter markets held in Europe traditionally and in some cities stateside. Two big tents (30 x 60 feet) were put up with booths inside. We had all kinds of wonderful vendors with hot apple cider, Christmas wreaths, fresh bakery, ornaments, jewlery; everything including Stranded Sisters. See!! The weather was brisk, in the 20's and we had a good 2-3 inch snowfall. The snow put a lovely icing on the whole city. Alot of people were looking for mittens and socks, not something I do very much of, but felted soaps and the hanbags went over well. We saw alot of folks from the summer- it was really nice. Tomorrow the weather should be a little warmer. I hope that more and more people come to enjoy the market. We had around 800 people today. At times it seemed like more. The volunteer crew at the market did an outstanding job putting everything together.
The Winter Market runs this weekend and next-- see you there!
